As Singaporeans, we grow in a country of strictness and laws that most of us obey. This somehow, lead us to be one of the countries that believe, every wrongdoings did to innocent ones need to receive their punishments. An issue about morality arise when a video of a toddler in China that was left on the street fighting for her life after she was knocked down by two vans spread in the media. Netizens have also expressed outrage about the humanity and morality of the passerbys who did not offer any help upon seeing that pitiful toddler.
There are rumours about China citizens not offering help to any who need it to avoid getting all the blame after all their good deeds. This is a serious matter that the government should look into and take actions on because the whole nation is affected.
Upon watching the video myself, no doubts the first impression is "China people are heartless". It is just upset to see an innocent child going through all those pains. That just changed my impression of that big country. However, i believe not every China citizens are that heartless and it is unfair to those who would have help that little girl if they happen to be there. Hearts of many sank when the news of the death of YueYue was in the media. Even though many knew the chances of her surviving is very slim, no one bear to see that child leaving the world.
In my opinion, the drivers should receive their punishments for their wrongdoings. I'm sure they are aware of what is happening. They should be responsible for all the chaos they created to the whole nation. I'm sure China is having a hard time to regain their reputation from this incident. I believe there are people who trust most of the China people are not heartless like those who appear in the video.
May god bless YueYue.
